Summer Events 2017

Here are a few things I’ve got scheduled for this summer!

Thursday 22 June 2017, 10 am – 3 pm: I’ll be participating in Timehop: Wordpool’s Young Adult Fiction Festival. Blackpool, England.

Friday 28 – Sunday 30 July 2017: I’m a guest at YALC (Young Adult Literature Convention), the UK’s YA Lit Con at London Film and Comic Con, London, England.

Friday 4 August 2017, 10 am: I’ll be speaking as part of the Pennsylvania Chautauqua’s Author Series at the Hall of Philosophy in Mount Gretna, Pennsylvania – on an unusual combination of Rose Under Fire and The Pearl Thief. Rose is included because of its connection to this spring’s One Book, One Community choice in Central Pennsylvania. I’m also planning to make a visit to the Mt. Gretna Community Library sometime between 1 and 20 August – date to be confirmed!

Monday 14 August 2017, 6-8 pm: I’m speaking at the Lebanon Community Library in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, my grandmother’s hometown. More information here.

Thursday 24 August 2017, 11 am: I’m participating in the Baillie Gifford Schools Programme at the Edinburgh International Book Festival, in a presentation aimed at S1-S3 students on The Pearl Thief and entitled “A Very Scottish Mystery.” The full Schools Programme with more information on the session and on all the other participating authors is available here.

Thursday 31 August to Saturday 2 September 2017: Guest author at LeakyCon 2017, Dublin.

Sunday 3 September 2017, 5.00 p.m.: I’ll be reading from The Pearl Thief and signing books at the Innerpeffray Library near Crieff, as part of the Perth and Kinross Doors Open Days celebration. The Innerpeffray Library is fictionalized in The Pearl Thief as “Inverfearnie,” and there will be a literary treasure hunt connected to The Pearl Thief that weekend for Doors Open Day visitors. Details to follow.
